In her poetic and highly personal debut, director Zahraa Ghandour contrasts Iraq’s past and present highlighting the societal forces that have shaped the lives of Iraqi women. The director searches Baghdad for her childhood friend Nour, who suddenly disappeared at the age of ten - she was one of many forgotten girls – she became flana. Her journey uncovers the dark secrets behind families abandoning their daughters. The search for Nour leads her to another girl, Layla, with a similar story
